Firefighters from neighboring fire stations and their families joined the Sun City Fire District and Sun Cities Firefighters Charity in a car wash fundraiser Sept. 21 to raise money for a SCFD captain undergoing cancer treatments. The event was a great success, according to event organizers. The SCFC is now gearing up for their second Shred-A-Thon from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 12 in the parking lot of Steiner’s Amish Furniture Store, 10722 Grand Ave, to raise money for other firefighters and the general public in need.
