Sun City artists featured at local show

The Artists by the Lake Club of Sun City announces four of its artists have had their work juried into the latest show, “Abstraction Distraction,” at The West Valley HQ Gallery, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza.

There were more than 150 entries and only 70 were juried into the show. The member-artists included in this show are Peggy Juneau-Shutte, Georgia Feiste, Deb Dahlin and Lynne Viviano.

There will be an artists’ reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 14, with snacks and beverages available. The show runs June 14-July 19 and the gallery is open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.

Additional Artists by the Lake activities in the Lakeview Center’s art room include: the pastel/acrylic interest group 9 a.m.-noon Mondays with open studio 1-4 p.m.; Malcolm Blazier teaching drawing Tuesdays and oil and acrylic painting Wednesdays, both 9 a.m.-noon; open studio time 9 a.m.-noon Thursdays and Georgia Feiste and Deb Dahlin teaching oil and acrylics in the afternoons, 1-4 p.m.; and open studio 9 a.m.-noon Friday and the Rainbow Painters interest group meeting 1-4 p.m.

Interest groups and open studio are all free of charge. Dues for Artists by the Lake are $10 a year for any resident with a valid RCSC card. All levels of experience are welcome.
