Sun City artist donates work to benefit Artists by the Lake

Posted

Sun City artist Kelly Abraham will donate her painting, “Marina,” for the raffle to benefit the Artists by the Lake Club of Sun City.

Artists by the Lake will host its second annual fine art show and sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24, at the Lakeview Center, 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd., in the second floor social hall.

Abraham will also be at the show demonstrating her style of abstract painting. Her bold, bright colors and brush strokes make her art unique, while her subjects are from the environment around her, such as cats, cowboys and Southwest landscapes. Abraham has participated in many art shows; most recently, she was accepted into the Glendale Art Show.

She is a member of Artist by the Lake club as well as Palo Verde Art Club in Sun City.

In addition to a raffle to benefit the club, there is a silent auction for Bonnie Temperley’s art, daily demonstrations by artists and a gift shop, which will have small items club members make for sale. Artists will be available throughout the show to answer questions and help with art purchases. A “People’s Choice” award will be given at the end of the show based on visitor votes.

Artists by the Lake Club classes are now forming in drawing, pastel, acrylic and oil. All levels are welcome — beginners to advanced experience. Members must have a valid RCSC card and a check for $10.
