Sun Canyon Bank will host a grand opening celebration 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at its new facility located in the Bell Camino Center, 10736 W. Bell Road. The public is invited to attend the event, which will include an ice cream truck with free treats for Sun Canyon Bank visitors, giveaways, prizes and a ribbon cutting at noon.

Sun Canyon Bank, a division of Banterra Bank, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and is based in the Midwest, opened its first Sun Canyon Bank location on June 10, 2019 in Sun City West.

“I’ve personally experienced this thriving and welcoming region as a resident and knew that our bank needed to be a part of it,” said Everett Knight, founder and chairman of Banterra Corporation. “Our company is excited to grow this second bank brand in Sun City West and now Sun City and to support the residents and economic development of this area.”

As part of the celebration, Sun Canyon Bank will offer prizes every 30 minutes for attendees that register at the event, including a grand prize VIP premiere package for two at Arizona Broadway Theater that includes dinner and show tickets (value of $350+). There will be live music by Joe Heath & the Last Shot Band, free ice cream treats from Ice Cream Sociables food truck, as well as corn hole games. Additionally, as a supporter of community efforts, Sun Canyon Bank is providing a $1,000 donation to the Sun City Posse and a $1,000 donation plus food drive for Valley View Community Food Bank.

Individuals receive $300 cash bonus when opening a Sun Canyon Interest Checking account or $150 when opening a Sun Canyon Simplified Checking account. Offer expires March 31, 2025; see branch for complete details.
