Singers needed for Fauré’s ‘Requiem’

Posted

The American Lutheran Church of Sun City Worship and Music Ministry invites singers from around the region to lift their voices with the ALC choir presentation of “Requiem” by Gabriel Fauré.

This program, under the direction of Janet MacDonald, will be in collaboration with a chamber orchestra and feature Dr. James Gerber at the American Lutheran pipe organ to perform a choral masterwork.

The performance is 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, in American Lutheran’s Sanctuary, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd.

There will be only four rehearsals: Saturdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 11 and 25 and March 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. Singers who wish to participate must be able to commit to attending a minimum of three of the rehearsals and are requested to provide their own “Requiem” by Fauré: the John Rutter edition, which is published by Oxford University Press.

Participant registration for the Fauré Requiem Choir is available viaalcsuncity.org/faure. Additional contact information about the event and other ministries of American Lutheran Church of Sun City is also listed there.
