SCHOA office now open for appointments in Sun City

Still closed to walk-in traffic

Residents needing assistance from the Sun City Home Owners Association can now visit the office, but only by appointment.

The office, 10401 W. Coggins Drive, was closed through the summer in response to the coronavirus pandemic. However, there was minimal staff available to take covenants, conditions and restrictions complaints and address other issues via phone and email.

“This is part of the SCHOA plan for re-opening our offices,” Martha Lattie, SCHOA marketing director, stated in an email. “The board made the decision Sept. 3.”

Now residents can access the office in person for Business Partner, compliance and membership matters on an appointment only basis, she added. The office hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon Fridays. Residents must call 623-974-4718 to make an appointment.

“We are still available via phone to answer your questions,” Ms. Lattie stated. “Please continue to visit our website, read our newsletter and watch our email blasts for updates and rescheduled events in the future.”

All persons who come into the SCHOA office for an appointment will be required to wear their own mask, according to Ms. Lattie. The mask requirement is part of SCHOA’s reopening plan and Maricopa County’s mask mandate, she added.

The SCHOA board plans to meet on schedule 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, but the meeting will not be open to the public, according to Ms. Lattie.

“We have installed a camera with audio capabilities in our meeting room where we conduct our board of directors meetings, with the hope of bringing those meetings to anyone interested in viewing them,” Ms. Lattie stated.

The meetings will be recorded and made available via YouTube, she explained. SCHOA officials hope to have the process in place in time for the Sept. 22 board meeting, she added.

“We are still working with our service providers to get the sound right,” Ms. Lattie stated Sept. 9. “We have conducted some membership committee meetings via Zoom and we are planning on having another virtual Thirsty Thursday meeting in October.”

The Thirsty Thursday meeting is scheduled 12:30 p.m. Oct. 15.

“We had originally scheduled it for September, but moved it to October,” Ms. Lattie stated.

SCHOA officials canceled the Health and Wellness Expo, which was scheduled Friday, Nov. 6 and the New Residents Orientation scheduled Friday, Oct. 23.
