This is in response to Carol Landesman’s letter to the editor (“Residents should decide what to include,” Sun City Independent, May 19, 2021).
Ms. Landesman, my husband and I vote “no” to having to individually pay $496 in rec fees. We didn’t sign up for that when we moved to Sun City. Just because you’re single doesn’t mean a married couple have way more money to spend.
Maybe you could vote to make your fee $248. That seems fair to me. I do feel we all are owed some discount somewhere as we paid the fees and got very little usage this past year because of COVID-19. I would think they could at least give us some free punch cards now for when we have guests/family come to visit.
Our budget is tight. Don’t make it worse by insisting on this increase. Fight for the $248 for yourself and other singles. Good day.
