Rising country star coming to Wickenburg

Country music star Tony Jackson makes his Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts debut 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 1090 S. Vulture Mine Road.
Born in Portsmouth, VA, Jackson grew up in a military family, which exposed him to a wide range of music through Armed Forces Radio. Though he was surrounded by diverse genres, it was country music that truly resonated with him. Jackson’s early experiences, including a chance encounter with his idol Randy Travis while stationed overseas, helped shape his deep connection to the genre.
“The themes that occur in country music are what people are more connected to while away from home,” Jackson, a Marine veteran himself, said. “Country music has always been the type of music that speaks to me the most.”
Since launching his career in 2017, Jackson has a growing reputation for his engaging live shows, performing classic country hits such as George Jones’ “The Grand Tour” and Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman” or his own songs.
