Rhythm Ramblers to play TV favorites in Sun City

Posted

The Rhythm Ramblers, Sun City’s original big band, will perform favorite television themes and dance tunes 2:30 p.m. March 4 at the Sundial Recreation Center, 14801 N. 103rd Ave.

Drinks and snacks may be brought in; cups and ice will be provided.

“Some great music has been used for TV shows, movies and commercials,” said music director Bryan Altherr, “and the band has worked hard to do them justice.”

The performance will feature music from “The Tonight Show,” “American Bandstand,” “Mission Impossible” and many others. Vocalists Jane Higgs, Jim Lee and Lynn Altherr will be featured. Most numbers will be suitable for dancing.

The Rhythm Ramblers Club kicked off its 62nd year in January and already boasts more than 100 members. Recreation Centers of Sun City cardholders may join at the door by filling out a short form and paying $10 annual dues. Membership includes free admission to dances on the first Tuesday of each month from January through April and October through December. Single-dance admission is $5 for RCSC cardholders and $7 for escorted guests.

Reservations are recommended for parties of four or more. Call Lynn Altherr at 602-909-7586 to reserve a table.
