Not sure about Sun City, I live in Sun City West, but the writer of this article is "right on."
It seems you can do anything you want as far as speeding, reckless driving in Sun City West. Nobody is going to stop you.
I also think it is way worse when the snowbirds are here (no offense). Most likely because the population and the amount of cars goes way up.
Face it, we have half of a sheriff's deputy to patrol a senior community of almost 18,000 homes (that's maybe 10,000 cars and who knows how many golf carts). They can only do so much. I have never seen anyone pulled over for speeding or reckless driving in Sun City West. I don't think it is ever going to get much better.
A suggestion might be to use speed radar cameras and flag anyone going 10 miles per hour over the posted limits. The proceeds from these should go to the Sun City West Posse to help fund them. I know the roads belong to Maricopa County, so I don't expect anything will change.
Anyways. just another opinion.
