Reader responds to new fee from Sun City Fire Department

In response to the Sun City fire department Treatment in Place fee:
I understand costs are up for everything, and I understand that the SCFD works on a tight budget, and I also understand nobody wants higher taxes.
Still, it's a shame that now, before calling 911, I am going to have to stop and consider the cost. I have neighbors who sometimes fall down and can't get up. If I can help them, and if I know calling for help may cost them over $300, it's a call I would be very reluctant to make.
Are there other places or organizations to call for quick assistance? I think an article in the Independent that looked at options to calling 911 for fall assistance would be very helpful.
