Pet guru brings peace of mind
Posted
Name: Tori Levitt.
Business name: Doolittle’s Doghouse; tori@doolittlesdoghouse.com; business bark line 480-907-6400 (it’s a land line; I’m old school).
Town/neighborhood: We serve the entire valley. We are open for business 365 days per year, including holidays.
Personal background highlights: Graduate of Arizona State University business college, followed by a 30-year career in mortgage banking. Following the real estate crash of 2008, I pivoted to building a pet care company. Applying the same sales and analytical skills developed as a successful loan officer, I am providing pet care solutions for dedicated animal owners with thoughtful consideration to each client and their individual furry needs.
Professional background highlights: I have yet to be invited for an interview with Oprah. Yet my professional acumen is based on honesty and authenticity, not a wall of plaques and awards. Treat others as you wish to be treated is a daily mantra for me.
What I do: I provide peace of mind for pet parents and joie de vivre for their pets.
What I like most about doing business here: Scottsdale (and surrounding) is a vibrant marketplace. With a growing population, there is no shortage of things to do and people to meet.
What am I promoting: I give wings to pet parents so they can fly with peace of mind knowing their pets are professionally cared for.
Favorite community cause and why: I support strengthening the human-animal bond. This includes all rescue shelters and groups, and adoptive parents, that strive to give every dog and cat a loving home.
When and why I started my business/employment here: While ASU was the main attraction to relocate in 1980, I found every reason to stay. I’m no exception in that regard, as the employment and business opportunities are exceptional for anyone willing to work hard to achieve success.
My family: My pet nannies are my family. They keep my business going — my boots on the ground and my best friends. You can meet them via the Nannies page on our website at doolittlesdoghouse.com.
My interests and hobbies: I like to read in my downtime. I enjoy mystery and detective stories because the good guy always wins! It’s a great way to relax and expand my vocabulary. I actually wrote and published a book for grins, “The World According to Dog; Amusing Life Lessons Taught to us by Dogs.” It’s on Amazon. A fun, 1-time only experience. I’m told readers like it.
My guiding philosophy: Life is like a camera. Focus on the big picture; develop from the negative; and if it doesn’t work out, take another shot.
My advice to today’s youth: Be bold and brave. Strive to be the best you can be. Find your inner gifts and put them to use for the greater good.
