Panhellenic luncheon next month in Sun City

Posted

The West Valley Panhellenic group invites local alumnae and collegiate sorority club members, as well as interested non-members, to a luncheon and program that will help raise money and other donations for St. Mary’s Food Bank and Valley View Food Bank.

The luncheon is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Sun City Country Club, 9433 N. 107th Ave. Cost is $25, gratuity included. Non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations are welcome.

As the first food bank in the World, St. Mary’s has provided hunger relief in Arizona since 1967 and, along with Valley View Food Bank, supplies nourishment and hope to members of the community.

Guest speaker is 2014 winter Olympic silver medalist Lyndsey Fry, of the United States women’s national ice hockey team. Born and raised in Arizona, Fry played college hockey at Harvard University and returned to the Valley after retiring from competition. She was instrumental in starting the Arizona Kachinas Hockey Association, which supports girls and women who play amateur hockey in Arizona and currently coaches their Tier 1 Under 16 team.

RSVP by March 3; call 623-974-9234.
