My husband and I have lived in several different communities. With each one we looked at schools, taxes, HOA fees and additional fees.
We have owned two homes in Sun City. With both, I drove through the neighborhoods during the day and at night to get a better understanding of the neighborhood plus how close we were to amenities, hospitals, grocery stores and assisted living places.
I also checked out which golf courses are actually part of the original can’t sell agreement, and which could be sold because we wanted a golf course lot although we don’t golf.
I am not sure why people who bought here now expect to be able to opt out of the Recreation Centers of Sun City annual fees. When a person purchases a property here, they are made aware of the one-time public improvement fee as well as the RCSC fees.
If they expected the fees to remain the same over the years, they weren’t being realistic. Maintenance costs do rise. The same happens when you have maintenance done at your home or on your car.
The Sun City Foundation may be of some assistance. I might add that the foundation does receive monetary donations, which are deductible, from those who might be willing to donate.
