Oakmont gets no respect, action in Sun City

Posted

For the last two years residents of Oakmont Drive in Sun City have been complaining to the Sun City Home Owners Association about disturbing goings on at at residence on that street.

Since January there have been no less than 40 visits by the sheriff’s office to that home for multiple infractions of Sun City and County regulations and ordinances.

I moved in a little more than two years ago and have been complaining since almost the day we moved in. Property has been stolen from our backyard and we have been so disturbed by everything happening there, I installed surveillance cameras in February. Since then I have more than six hours of videos of violations, including disturbing the peace, drugs, minors living in the garage and many, many more.

The sheriff’s office is well aware of the problem and so is the Sun City Posse, but no one seems to be able to do anything about the problems. I have a civil suit against the owners of the house and I have filed a civil suit against SCHOA for doing nothing to protect me and to do what it could to allow me to live in peace, which is why I moved to Sun City to begin with. There are many residents who are fed up with the goings on and many are witnesses to my lawsuit.

Maybe some news coverage or others coming forward will get the SCHOA, the sheriff’s office and the Sun City Posse to finally do something about the problem they are so well aware of.

I do not feel safe in my own home now. After two years of dealing with ongoing problems with our neighbors inviting and allowing the homeless and strays into their garage and backyard all hours of the day and night, it has come to this — sheriff’s deputies next to my backyard gate with automatic rifles. The Sun City Home Owners Association, the Sun City Posse and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has been aware and not dealing with this problems for years and now it is escalating to this. What’s next?
