More than 30 members of the Democrats Club attended the group’s annual spring picnic April 9 on the patio adjacent to the Botanical Garden at Beardsley Recreation Center. The club has one monthly meeting remaining — 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the Sun City West Foundation Quail Room — before it recesses for the summer months. Members are reminded to bring non-perishable food items, which are donated to Saguaro Jane’s Food Bank in Wittman. During the summer months of June, July and August the club will hold monthly luncheons at Betty’s Rooste, 14418 Meeker Blvd., 11 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday each month, and happy hours 5 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at State 48 Brewery, 13823 W. Bell Road. General meetings will resume Sept. 10. All members and their progressive-minded guests are invited to attend. Additional information about the club and its planned events can be found at northwestvalleydemocrat.com.
