Moore: Sun City resident asks why attack someone you don’t know?

Posted 4/26/21

To E. Wisniewski, in my original letter about short term rentals (“Reader offers suggestions for short rentals,” Sun City Independent, March 31, 2021), I was answering an email request for my opinion from Rusty Bradshaw and generally writing to Sun City Home Owners Association sharing my opinion at the same time.

Moore: Sun City resident asks why attack someone you don’t know?

I submitted it in good faith as I was asked to do by Mr. Bradshaw. My dear E. Wisniewski, you don’t know me and know nothing about what I do so why would you personally attack me in your response letter to me (“Reader says ‘no’ to short term rentals,” Sun City Independent, April 14, 2021) when I don’t even know you and was not writing to you? You should not write so angrily and emotionally about someone or something you know absolutely nothing about.

I never suggested using “an owned home in Sun City to rent out to roomers,” rather I suggested to SCHOA to limit them; I am not a “violator” as you say and I do not “break laws” as you suggest I do and so your entire letter is inappropriate and does not even address the STR question. You seem to have no clue what STRs are and how they work and so you are completely off base and out of your realm on this.

Accusing me of “wanting to earn income off of people who cannot pay rent” is absurd and so off the mark of what an STR is that I am shocked at your ignorance. STRs have nothing to do with the unfortunate and “section 8” housing, rather they are for travelers and visitors who live more towards the opposite end of people needing “section 8.” In your rambling rant aimed at me personally you say SCHOA “is going to have to get some strong legal advice now on how to stop violators like yourself,” referring to me; and so now I say to you E. Wisniewski, maybe you should think about looking for some good legal services to advise you now that you have accused me of being some sort of a “violator” and have publicly announced that I “break the law” and also the “rules of the community,” because you are quite incorrect about this and your slanderous letter is not just rude and belligerent it is ignorant and misinformed as well.

Your public letter is disingenuous, out of kilter and unwarranted; it should be retracted immediately.
