Madrid speaks for senior citizens in Sun City area

Malea Madrid
MICHELLE PERDUE
Name: Malea Madrid.
Age: 39.
Business name: Consider it Done Seniors, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
Town/neighborhood: We are in Sun City West, but service Maricopa County.
Personal background highlights: Avid equestrian, glamping with my horses is my favorite thing. Graduated from Community College High School. Cared for my aging grandparents and learned everybody needs administrative help.
Professional background highlights: Started my career at 16 years old, becoming one of the youngest bank tellers at Bank of America, Worked internationally for an investments firm.
What I do: We are financial advocates for seniors. We help seniors file their taxes, manage their paperwork, pay their bills and cut through red tape that plagues us all.
What I like most about doing business here: There is no place like home. My family settled in Glendale in the early 1900s and have been here ever since. I love Arizona and especially the West Valley.
Changes I’d like to see in this area: More affordable housing options for seniors.
What am I promoting: Mobile daily money management, administrative and tax services tailored to fit the needs of seniors and those who care for them.
What I’m excited about and why: Helping seniors stay independent and free from fraud
Favorite community cause and why: Fraud prevention. Seniors are being targeted and scammed out of billions of dollars every year. Our goal is to raise awareness, and to promote change amongst financial institutions, government agencies and big tech companies.
When and why I started my business/employment here: After I had my son in 2017 I decided I did not want to commute downtown to work in an office all day. I had been assisting seniors on the side since 2012. I officially opened in 2018 and have not looked back.
Where was before and why I left: I had been helping seniors part-time while I worked at an accounting firm in downtown Phoenix. I saw the need seniors had for a financial advocate was rapidly growing, so in 2019 I made the leap, and left my job in the corporate world to focus on helping Seniors and their families.
My family: My 5-year-old son is the light of my life.
My interests and hobbies: I love riding horses, especially now that I can ride with my son.
People who inspire me (and how): My grandfather and my mother. They both have a servant’s heart and taught me to treat everyone with respect and compassion.
My guiding philosophy: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
My advice to today’s youth: Be a wise man and try to learn from others’ mistakes.
