Local Colonial Dames attend state meeting

President Lillian Schauer and Treasurer Sandy O’Donnell, local members of the Sonora Chapter of Colonial Dames 17th Century, attended the Arizona State Board of Management meeting Sept. 19 in Phoenix. 

Attendees included Colonial Dames state officers, state committee chairs and past presidents. 

Schauer serves as the State Organizing Secretary and Sandy O’Donnell serves as the State Insignia Chair. 

Colonial Dames is a charitable and heritage organization dedicated to the preservation of historic sites and records, commemorating noble and heroic deeds of colonial ancestors and maintaining the virtues of courage and patriotism ,which led to the independence of the colonies and the foundation of the United States. The local Sonora Chapter of Colonial Dames is based in Sun City West.

The Sonora Chapter of Colonial Dames 17th Century will meet 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Grandview Terrace in Sun City West, 14515 W. Granite Valley Drive. Guests are welcome. Guest speaker for the meeting will be State President Ginger Trokey. There will also be committee reports from members Tammie Cochran (Pocahontas Projects) and Pamela Miller (Insignia).
