Local band puts on a show, makes donation
Posted
FlashDrive, the resident band of the Via Montoya neighborhood in Sun City West, performed two driveway concerts of Christmas and holiday fare in December.
Thanks to donations from music-loving neighbors and friends, the gatherings raised more than $1,300 for the Valley View Community Food Bank.
Band members include trumpeter and comedian Dan Reed, “Drummer Boy” and vocalist Clark Chaffee, pianist Donna Bytwork, vocalist Ellie Chaffee and bassist Tony Miller, who sang “Mr. Grinch.” They were joined on the second concert by Las Vegas cellist Sarah Chaffee.
There were a variety of selections, ranging from “Winter Wonderland” to a piano/cello duet of “Coventry Carol“ and an original parody called “The 12 months of COVID.”
FlashDrive’s next concert will be a program of love songs for Valentine’s Day, planned for Feb. 12.
