Little Bite of Italy in Sun City is changing ownership

Posted

An Italian restaurant in Sun City is changing ownership as the original owners near retirement.

Little Bite of Italy, northwest corner of 99th Avenue and Greenway Road, will be taken over and renamed "Paulie's Little Bite of Italy" on Thursday, Aug. 1 after the recent purchase of the establishment by Paul Ghiglieri, according to a letter from the owners in an email from Little Bite of Italy.

"It is with some sadness and a bit of relief that after 22+ years and at 76 years of age, we have a buyer for Little Bite of Italy," the letter from Bryan Foley and Nancy Wheeler reads.

Although ownership will change, the staff will remain the same.

Saturday, July 27 is Mr. Foley and Ms. Wheeler's last day in the business. However, they will still be around to grab a pizza and a beer, and see a few of their friends.

The rest of their letter:

"Over the years we have met and served many people that we have come to know, and yes, even love, and you know who you are," the couple states. "Words cannot express our affection and deep appreciation to all who have helped make Little Bite the success it has become.

"Beginning with our kitchen staff who of course made this all possible through their loyalty, hard work and phenomenal ability to get the job done. You guys are the very best!"

"Then the front of the house staff - servers, bartenders, cashiers, bussers and expos who have served with pride and enthusiasm. It has been our pleasure to work with you all.

"And who can forget our entertainers who love to do what they do and make us sing and dance whether we want to or not! You have all made our evenings special and Little Bite a fun place to be. We thank you all for that.

"Special thanks to all our customers: our full timers who are here all year and come in even in 110 degree weather in the summer but can’t find a seat in the winter, plus our snowbirds whose first stop from the airport is Little Bite. You have all been like family to us offering encouraging words and praises. We will always remember your kindness and encouragement.

"And Paul, we wish you all the best and much success in your new adventure. We hope you have half as much fun as we’ve had and as many wonderful and crazy memories in the years to come. One suggestion - keep a journal and write a book. It’ll be a best seller!"

"Thank you all for the wonderful memories. We will miss you! It has been a fabulous ride!"
