Kaiser: Golf course patrols should not be issue in Sun City

Posted

I must admit I am confused by the issue of golf course patrols (“Posse, RCSC butting heads,” Sun City Independent, Oct. 19, 2022).

Why is this even an issue? I am 100% in favor of the Sun City Posse using their resources to help our community stay safe. It is their purpose. In one article it stated one of the reasons the patrols were suspended is the maintenance company complaints of water spots on the vehicles caused by sprinkler systems. Can this be true? Seems like a petty excuse for abandoning safety, and a good reason to replace the maintenance company.

This is the source of my confusion. There must be more to the story.

Having said that it is inexcusable that Bill Cook has been unable to reach agreement with the Recreation Centers of Sun City board, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the Posse. Seems Mr. Cook’s only talent is ignoring the needs of the community — weak technology infrastructure, Viewpoint Lake water fiasco, stashing cash in a huge surplus year over year and pissing off almost everyone he comes in contact with.

Hopefully, the upcoming elections result is an RCSC board that changes it’s focus back to the original intent of working for the members of Sun City. The first action of such a board should be to replace Mr. Cook and several other members of his team with a group that can play well with others. This recent example is just one of many that the entire RCSC board and management team is not working well.
