Created as an Arizona Centennial Legacy Project, Arizona’s 48 Most Intriguing Women honors women from all across the state of Arizona whose diverse backgrounds, leadership and commitment have contributed in a positive way to the future of Arizona.

Honorees include: Dr. Sian Proctor, the first African-American woman to pilot a spacecraft as part of Elon Musk’s SpaceX mission that orbited the earth; Amy Bockerstette, a collegiate golfer who is the first person with Down syndrome to attend college on an athletic scholarship, and the first person with Down syndrome to compete in a national collegiate championship; and Krystal Burge, a City of Kingman entrepreneur who, together with her brother, grew a single Taco Bell into a fast-food empire of over 300 stores.

Past honorees have included: Ambassador Cindy McCain, former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, and Diane Humetewa, the first female Native American U.S. Attorney.

“Being able to meet and get to know the honorees has been a truly amazing experience,” said 48 Women Chairperson Connie Robinson. “This remarkable gathering will be a memorable event acknowledging the women for the many contributions and accomplishments they have achieved not only within their communities, but throughout the state of Arizona.”

A coffee table book entitled “A New Decade, Arizona’s 48 Most Intriguing Women,” telling the women’s stories in words and photos, will be available for purchase during the luncheon for $75.00.
