The West Valley Jewish Film Festival, at Beth Emeth Congregation, 13702 W Meeker Blvd., has been bringing Jewish-themed movies to the West Valley since 2006. The mission is to provide a cultural experience for all, complemented by refreshments served after each film. It is also one of the congregation’s major fundraisers.
From the very beginning, Harry Newman, a long-time congregational member, played an integral role on the film selection and production committee. In honor of his extensive contributions, this year’s film festival is dedicated in Newman’s memory.
The movie lineup for 2025 includes: “Irena’s Vow” 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25; “Less Than Kosher” 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26; and “The Boy in the Woods” 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27.
