James “Jimmy” A. Rochon

James “Jimmy” passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, with family by his side at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, AZ, where he resided. Jimmy was one day shy of his 87th birthday on April 13th when he passed. Jimmy was born on April 13, 1936, to Henry & Leona Rochon in Everett Washington. He was the youngest of 6 brothers, followed by 2 sisters. Jimmy was preceded in death by his 1st wife; Yvette-1999; parents; Henry & Leona, brothers; Ray-2010 (Dolly), Charlie-2016, Ron-2022 (Beverly), Larry-2022 (Adeline) and Leonard-2023.
Jimmy is survived by his 2nd wife, Peggy (Margaret); sisters. Mary Langill (Tom) & Carol Rochon (Dennis); 4 children: Michael (Kim), Janet Reash (Kevin), Richard (Thomas) and Jim Roy (Bronwyn); 7 grandchildren: Nicholas, Garrett (Tabatha) & Tiffany Strezelecki (Thadeus), Tyler Ann & Dylan and Harrison & Mason; 4 great-grandchildren: Kaylee & Kane and Ariana & Brantley; sisters-in-law: Lena, Mary, Peg, Jo & Cathy; brothers-in-law. Marcel, Bill (Gail) & Peter (Sharon).
Jimmy attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help & Everett High School where he graduated. Upon graduation Jimmy volunteered to serve his country and entered the Naval Reserve in December 1953. Then, Jimmy entered active service in the Navy in January 1955 and was honorably discharged in January 1957. Jimmy returned to serve his country again in the active naval reserves from April 1964-1968, and was honorably discharged a 2nd time.
On November 16, 1957, Jimmy wed Yvette Muloin at Perpetual Help Church and remained married to Yvette for 41 years until her passing on September 9, 1999. After leaving the Navy and marrying Yvette, they raised their 3 children together in Seattle. Jimmy started his career at Seattle Transit in September 1958 as a bus driver for 14 years. Seattle Transit became Metro Transit, then King County Metro, Jimmy became a Service Supervisor and held many positions at Metro; from Dispatcher to Instructor. Jimmy finished his career at KC Metro after 41 years as a Senior Scheduler/Planner in 1998.
In 2004 Jimmy married his 2nd and current wife Peggy (Margaret) Roy from Syracuse, NY on October 9, 2004. They moved to Sun City West, Arizona, they where happily married for the last 18 years.
The service for James “Jimmy” A. Rochon will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Our Lady of Hope Chapel-2617 Cedar St., Everett, WA 98201
There will also be a rosary for Jimmy at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Our Lady of Hope Chapel.
There will be a reception immediately following the service on Friday, 11:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M. at Mattie Hall-2517 Hoyt Ave, Everett, WA 98201.
Following the reception there will be a graveside service at 1:00 P.M. at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St., Shoreline, WA 98155.
