Hug: Knights thank agencies for assistance

We wish to thank the generosity of the residents in the Sun City West and surrounding areas for helping to make our “Leave No Neighbor Behind Food Drive” a great success.

We want to thank Sun City West Foundation and the Sun City West Posse for use of the parking lot as a venue. In addition, we want to thank the Independent newspaper, Radio KSCW, the Recreation Centers of Sun City West for their website and newsletter, Property Owners and Residents Association and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish for advertising the event for us.

We wish to thank you for helping to make our “Leave No Neighbor Behind Food Drive” a great success. Because of the good corner visibility, promotions and the fabulous help from the organizations like yours, we exceeded our expectations with the largest donation the council has ever collected at one time.

We collected 5,136 pounds of non-perishable foods and $850 in monetary donations during the food drive which was given to Valley View Community Food Bank. In fact, the amount of food filled the truck used to transport the food from the drive back to the food bank. We will be looking at doing this again in the future and hope that we can rely on you to help us succeed with the next food drive.
