Health, Safety & Pet Festival coming to Sun City

AARP Historic Chapter No. 1 of Youngtown will host its 9th Annual Health, Safety & Pet Festival 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 in the large parking lot of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 11025 N. 111th Ave., Sun City.

The event is free to the public.

There will be more than 50 local senior, health, safety and pet focused businesses displaying products and services. Guests can learn about and collect resources from organizations exhibiting everything from senior care and assisted living facilities to a pharmacy, audiologist, botanicals and CBD oils, insurance, education and special state AARP programs.

There will be a multitude of local Youngtown and Sun City community clubs showing and selling crafts, jewelry, woodworking, art and household items. Several local shelters will have pets on site, and adoptions will be available. There will be giveaways and raffle prizes as well.

The morning will include local fare as the “Puffy Taco Shack” and several other food trucks will be on site.

To be an exhibitor call Ginny Creager at 928-595-4405. Exhibitor fee $25 fee.

AARP Historic Chapter No. 1 hosts monthly meetings 5 p.m. the first Fridays of every month in the Youngtown Clubhouse and Council Chambers, 12033 N. Club House Square, Youngtown. Different theme potluck dinner every month starting 5:30 p.m. Official meeting 6:15 p.m. Guests must be a current AARP national member. Club dues $10 per year.

AARP Historic Chapter No. 1 was the very first chapter in the United States, founded Sept. 23, 1960.
