Handbell Ringers prepare for holiday concert

The Handbell Ringers, directed by Libbie Randels, are working diligently on the music for their holiday show 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd.

“Ring a Song of Christmas” is the title and central theme of this year’s program. They will be ringing familiar favorites like “Frosty the Snowman,” “What Child Is This?” and “White Christmas.” The program also includes several sing-a-long holiday songs when the audience is invited to join the bells.

The program will conclude with “Joy to the World” featuring guest artist organist Dr. James Gerber, Director of Music at American Lutheran Church.

Tickets for the program are $5 and can be purchased from members and at the door.

This semester there are 26 ringers who come from a wide variety of musical and non-musical backgrounds that include numerous medical fields, a photographer, an airline stewardess, a pastor, a dog groomer, a web site designer and many music teachers. They rehearse each week at the Fairway center.

Membership in Handbell Ringers is open to RCSC cardholders and invited guests. Email doreenc4488@gmail.com.
