Golfers gather in Sun City to support cancer alliance

More than 170 golfers and volunteers participated in the West Valley Ovarian Cancer Alliance’s 17th Teal Ribbon Golf Charity Tournament March 6 at the Lakes East/West golf courses.

After the tournament a lunch was served, catered by Wild Bunch Catering. Between a donation in memory of Joan Cross-Zurek, a silent action and raffle tickets, the Alliance raised $50,000, which will go toward continued funding of early career research fellowships specific to gynecologic malignancies.

The West Valley Ovarian Alliance is a charitable organization of volunteers, survivors and community leaders committed to elevating ovarian cancer awareness and survivorship.

Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are now available for next year’s event by contacting Laurel Pracht, president, at 623-243-0287 or by visiting westvalleyoca@gmail.com.
