Giving4Pets Thrift Store grand opening in Sun City

Giving4Pets Thrift store is opening and ready for residents to give back.

The grand opening will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Giving4Pets Thrift Store, 10761 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City.  Shop or donate items, but stained cloths, mattresses or under garments are not accepted.

The Giving4Pets Thrift Store concept was founded by the GK Foundation, Inc a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2019 by the two founders Samantha Garcia and Sean Kosla. The organization  understands the strong connection that human beings have with  pets, and our foundation is dedicated to “Keeping Pets and Families Together”, despite financial obstacles is the mission.

This is not an animal rescue, but a resource. The mission is to provide financial assistance to families with pets, who may need assistance with their pet’s health and daily care. The Giving4Pets thrift store will finance the foundations mission, through net profits generated from selling donated goods from the public which will be resold at the Giving4Pets Thrift Store.

Now more than ever, families are experiencing unforeseen economic struggles and our animal shelters are beyond capacity, and we believe that serenading the family pet due to lack of affordability is not acceptable.

Families that need assistance will be required to apply and will work directly with the veterinarians, specialty veterinarians or animal emergency veterinarians to assist with the services/treatment needed that will allow the pet to go home with the family.

Specifically, our anticipated outcomes include the following, but not limited to:

  1. Reducing the number of pets surrendered to animal shelters and animal rescue organizations. While increasing the availability to spay, neuter or chip the family pet.
  2. Reducing the number of pets euthanized because treatment/lifesaving treatment costs are unaffordable, typically elder animals.
  3. Pet owners faced with mounting boarding-fee costs for their pets due to the pet owner’s unforeseen illness or for those pet owners who had recently lost their jobs or are underemployed.
  4. Pet-loving individuals who simply want to adopt a pet of their own but don’t have all the funds to do so.
  5. Provide food and other necessities to pet owners in need of assistance.
  6. Increasing the number of pets that are spayed/neutered and chipped.
  7. Create more informed and prepared pet owners through free education classes.

Both founders have owned and operated businesses, they both are dedicated animal health and wellness, and dedicated to holding animal abusers accountable.
