Fox: Sun City hospital add has beam fire protection

Posted

It has been brought to my attention that an individual (signed Mike Jennings) wrote an opinion article (“Believes no fireproofing on Banner add,” Sun City Independent, May 27, 2020) to your paper regarding the construction at Banner Boswell Medical Center.

His article stated that he has a concern that there is no spray-applied fireproofing on the structural steel components of the building.

This is not correct. I have performed inspections at the Hospital addition and seen and taken photos of all the spray-applied fireproofing on the structural steel. In fact, you can see it on the columns from 103rd Avenue. In addition, there are numerous inspection reports from the third-party inspection agency verifying the thickness and coverage of that product.

Just thought I should let you know.
