Name: Charlie and Ami Enouen

Business name: Kingswood Parke Family Chiropractic, 15508 W. Bell Road, Suite 105; phone 623-556-4772, fax 623-556-2316; visit kingswoodparkefamilychiropractic.com or rhinodocaz.com. Open 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 2:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday.

Neighborhood: Our name comes from the neighborhood across the street from us. When we opened in 2001 Kingswood Parke was the only family neighborhood built in Surprise.

Logo: Our logo is a mother and baby rhino symbolizing family. According to the “Rhinoceros Success” by Scott Alexander, there are three types of people — cows, sheep and rhinos. The cow sits in a pasture and only experiences what comes into the meadow. The sheep will follow everyone else and not originate its own thoughts. The rhino will take charge of situations and set new ideals. When it comes to health care, the cow waits for a “cure” (pill), the sheep does what everyone else does, while the rhino takes charge of his own health. Experience 100% life, love and happiness by improving your health on all levels — unleash the rhino within. Our motto is “ Become a rhino, take charge of your life!”

What we do: We offer chiropractic. We have a true old school philosophy of chiropractic and believe in it wholeheartedly. We provide a family atmosphere and know each one of our patients by name. All of our patients are like family to us. We have been open for 20 years now and have more than 75 patients still with us today since our first five years. Twenty of those patients have been with us since our first year in business. We are very grateful for each of them.

Dr. Charlie: Is a native to the west side of Phoenix. He grew up hiking all around the state with his father. He graduated from Logan University of Chiropractic in 1994. He loves playing and watching soccer and mountain biking. He was the team doctor for a mountain bike race team and the Saguaros semi-professional soccer team in Arizona. Most of his postgraduate studies have been in sports related injuries and over the past several years he has dedicated his interest in the treatment and prevention of sports injuries with our local high school athletes.

Ami: I’m the wife of Dr. Charlie. I also grew up on the west side of Phoenix. We have known each other since we were in kindergarten. We grew up together, but didn’t start dating until our high school reunion. We have three wonderful and amazing children. One of them, Sean, will be playing soccer for Ottawa University in Surprise. Our daughter, Megan, works at our office, and our son, Ryan, does all of our graphic design work. I was an elementary school teacher for 12 years and taught for several years in Surprise. I quit teaching to home school our children. Now that they have grown, I am the office manager at the office.

Business history: We opened our office in June 2001. I remember when we opened Lowes, Home Depot and Target had just had their grand openings. Much of the land around us was barren. Our daughter was only 1-year-old. Our patients have watched her grow up and helped out when our twins were born. We have gone through many remodels in the past 20 years, but we have always stayed in the same place.

Veterans: Though neither one of us have served in the military, we are so thankful for those that have. To honor them, we have a veterans wall the whole length of our hallway. It’s pictures of our patients and their families that were/are in the military. Dr. Charlie’s whole family was in the military. We also offer a discount to anyone that has served. Currently, we are collecting letters and items to be shipped in care packages for those who are serving overseas.
