Name: Katy Engels.

Age: Old enough to live in Sun City West.

Business name: Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, marykay.com/katyengels; email katy.j.engels@gmail.com or call 262-496-5606.

Town/neighborhood: Sun City West.

Professional background highlights: Mary Kay National Court of Personal Sales Achiever, 2022. Recognized in July 2022 on the national stage earning a diamond and rose quartz ring. Mary Kay Princess Court of Personal Sales Achiever 2021. Top in unit sales 2021 and 2022. Top in area unit sales 2022. Unit Miss Go-Give 2022. Started my business July of 2020. Have been using Mary Kay products since 1980.

What I do: Mary Kay Ash founded Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1963 and now we are in 40-plus countries all around the world. We will be celebrating our 60th anniversary next year. Yes, women still host home parties, it’s not out of fashion. Besides, who doesn’t want to earn products while having some girl time with friends? I specialize in beautiful gifts for the holidays and special occasions throughout the year, making gift shopping easy. I share Mary Kay Ash’s vision to enrich women’s lives. I do this in the form of complimentary facials, spa treatments, teaching them how to care for their skin, or learn new glamour looks. I also share this awesome opportunity with them that may enrich their own life or a life of another. A great part of my business is I can take it anywhere I go. During the pandemic, businesses had to learn to pivot. Because of virtual tools like Zoom and Facebook, I can work with women all across the United States and hold virtual appointments with them. I am holding in-person ones with local customers.

What am I promoting: My Mary Kay business just fits my life! It’s a great way to grow and there is always something to reach for. Currently, I am in a contest to facial 100 women (who are not serviced by another Mary Kay consultant) by Thanksgiving. This includes virtual and in-person facials. Do you know someone out of state that would like to participate and be one of my 100? I will mail samples in a pampering package and meet with them virtually. Right now is a great time get on my calendar to try the new fall products!
