Daughter stays active with memorial project
Posted
One Sun City Agua Fria National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Daughter, Betty DeRentis, has observed the COVID-19 social distancing rule while staying active for the chapter, spending volunteer hours for NSDAR’s Service to America at the Sun City Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery, taking pictures of tombstones for the findagrave.com, which receives requests from family and friends of the deceased.
Ms. DeRentis then posts them with the memorial on the Find-A-Grave website. When there are no pending requests, she looks for grave sites of World War I and World War II veterans and other grave sites not featured on the site. If there is not a memorial at all on Find-A-Grave, she will add the memorial and the picture.
To date, she has added 16 memorials and uploaded 65 pictures.
