Collins: There is value in our Sun City trees

Posted

Has anyone studied the value of trees and our health?

We are elderly and we want to get rid of bushes and trees? Is there not information on the web showing that bushes and trees filter the air we breathe? They cut back on heat islands when other things don’t.

Don’t we have enough respiratory challenges?

Google trees/health.

Even the leaves on our fruit trees are beneficial.

Educate yourself then decide if you’d like to see the trees go. I’d rather pay a bit more for water than respiratory medications.

A palm tree has an extremely long tap root that reaches the underground water source. They don’t require watering.

Also, could Nancy Farnand (“Pet owners should clean up debris,” Sun City Independent, Aug. 12, 2020) please let me know where to view the “law” that pertains to dog owners picking up their dog waste?

I own two dogs and although I do clean up after them, I was unaware of a law that states I have to do so. Have lived in Sun City for 15 years.
