Clay Corner slates annual pottery sale in Sun City

Posted

Members of the Marinette Clay Corner have been creating pottery pieces for their annual pottery sale and open house 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Friday, March 21, and 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday, March 22.

Members will be available to assist and guide in the selection of pieces and placement on totem poles. These one-of-a-kind vertical art pieces will be displayed inside the club and throughout the courtyard.

The courtyard outside of the club will also feature pieces crafted by members to brighten landscapes and patios. Colorful cacti, flowers, bird houses, flowerpots, yard animals and hanging art are only a sample of what might be available.

Inside the club, there will be glazed functional pieces such as coffee mugs, serving trays and bowls. There will also be a variety of decorative Southwest themed and modern pieces.

Demonstrations in hand building and wheel throwing will take place both days.

Raffle tickets will be available for a chance to win an original pottery creation, including a totem pole.

The Marinette Clay Corner is a full-service pottery studio located at the Marinette Recreation Center. Visit claycorner.org or call 623-273-6917 for more information. This sale is open to the public. Club membership is limited to Recreation Centers of Sun City cardholders.
