Church hosts music, meal on Ash Wednesday
Posted
Lynn Dyre will perform glass armonica music 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at American Lutheran Church of Sun City, 17200 W. Del Webb Blvd.
The glass armonica is a delicate instrument with an otherworldly sound.
Drye hails from Prescott and is one of the few glass concert artists in the world today. She will perform classical works written for the instrument and her own arrangements and compositions of folk tunes, classical pieces and contemporary music.
The program is part of the Wednesday Night Alive series and is free and open to the public.
Feb. 22 is Ash Wednesday, marking the first day of the Lenten season, and the service will begin at 6 p.m. At 5 p.m., there is a catered meal. Tickets for the meal must be purchased in advance no later than noon the preceding Monday, Feb. 20.
Contact the church at 623-974-2512 or alcsuncity.org for more information about the program or how to purchase meal tickets.
