Chandler announces retirement from Northwest Valley Connect

Posted

After serving as executive director of Northwest Valley Connect for nearly nine years, Kathy Chandler has announced her retirement at the end of February 2023 to spend time with her family.

Chandler has been responsible for effectively managing the organization in order to provide transportation and transportation resources to seniors, veterans and those disabled who live in the Northwest Valley. In addition to this experience, she had over 15 years of management experience, including paratransit and transportation functions, day-to-day strategy management as well as operations and customer service experience.

Chandler has been instrumental in growing the organization and its outreach in the various communities NVC serves.

Many seniors, veterans and disabled populations are not able to access transportation services in the Northwest Valley. Under Chandler’s leadership, Northwest Valley Connects calls coming in to the call center grew from nearly 4,000 in 2015 to about 23,000 calls in 2021. This usage clearly demonstrated the need for transportation and transportation resourcing for residents living in the Northwest Valley.

Chandler’s dynamic leadership will be truly missed by NVC's Board of Directors, staff, dedicated volunteers, clients, as well as by various community partners.

Chandler looks forward to focusing on family as well as catching up on her reading in her spare time.
