ART
Bergerson is artist of the month
Posted
The March artist of the month for the Palo Verde Art Club is Jen Bergerson.
Bergerson grew up around Kalamazoo, Michigan, and has lived in Arizona since 1988. She taught music and technology education in the Peoria Unified School System until 2016.
As a teen, she loved taking visual art classes in school and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. In 1993, Bergerson learned to paint Norwegian Rogaland style of Rosemaling, which is oil painting symmetrical designs of flowers and scrolls. During the pandemic of 2020 and 2021, she began painting with alcohol ink and in 2021 won first place in a national art contest for one of her alcohol ink pieces.
In addition, in 2021, Bergerson took up acrylic pouring painting and now uses these same pouring techniques to restore outside yard art with enamel paint.
Bergerson is thrilled to be teaching visual arts in retirement and anyone may see some of her work by visiting TheWriteJAB.com.
