Benevilla presents its next Live Zoom Educational Workshop at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14.

“Smart Gifting Strategies to Utilize in Unprecedented Times” features guest expert, Stephen Harnden, CFP, CPA, with Affirm Wealth Advisors, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC. Harnden will discuss smart investment strategies during uncertain financial times and how to make wise charitable contributions to support overall financial health.

Reservations are required for this free event. Call Benevilla at 623-584-4999 or visit https://benevilla.org/community-events/ to reserve a spot.

Then Benevilla follows with a free, online educational workshop at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 focusing on the challenging behaviors that may develop to those with dementia and how caregivers can address these changes with confidence. This workshop, part of the Benevilla Educational Event Series, is titled “Confident Caregivers Caring for Those with Dementia.”

This virtual, interactive Zoom workshop features two Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Program expert partners in home care, memory, and communications.  Jennifer Awinda from Golden Heart Senior Care and Tony Biancardi from NeighborCare will share important tips and offer guidance on dealing with the many challenging behaviors caused by memory loss and how to interpret and intervene in stressful situations.

Communication is more than just talking and listening.  Learn new ways to connect with your loved one as dementia progresses and explore different scenarios and strategies to communicate.

This free presentation is part of the yearlong “Educational Workshop” series featuring carefully selected professionals who can answer your questions and provide guidance and resources you may need to prepare for senior life changes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To reduce the risk of public exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic, Benevilla has chosen to convert all their popular education workshops into live stream, online Zoom events.  Upcoming workshops cover a broad range of important topics from in-home care management and hospice to estate preparation and tax savings tips.
