Benevilla offers kitchen to truck operators

Dining area now shut down

Birt’s Bistro restaurant on the Benevilla campus, 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise was a favorite of the Northwest Valley, not only for the food but for the relationship with the community.

The restaurant dining closed to the public and is being re-purposed into a new Benevilla program, “Benefitness,” an adaptive gym providing specialized individual and group fitness to the senior community. With this change a new opportunity has developed where Benevilla can now fulfill another underserved need in the area by offering Birt’s commercial kitchen a unique and economical rental concept idea for chefs, caterers and especially food truck owners looking for a fully resourced space to prepare their meals.

Many food trucks are turning to commissary kitchens for various reasons, including need for space, ability to handle large event orders, food storage and to help reduce waste when it comes to time and resources. Birt’s commercial kitchen provides a professional kitchen space where all entrepreneurs are important, and all can use the kitchen to aid in building and growing their programs. As food trucks continue to grow in popularity, Birt’s commercial kitchen offers an excellent opportunity for chefs to open their own food service business without buying a brick-and-mortar store.

Birt’s commercial kitchen offers a fully stocked commercial style kitchen with a combined space of more than 1,000 square feet. It is a turn-key and fully stocked with high quality equipment, including well maintained commercial grade appliances, utensils and prep space. Other equipment includes a 25-gallon soup kettle, full sized convection ovens, grill, broiler and more. Different rental packages are available.

Birt’s commercial kitchen provides an experienced kitchen manager who will support programs in scheduling kitchen time, storage and food ordering. It is possible to receive special purchase pricing with Benevilla discounts and delivery to the Benevilla location on a wide variety of high-quality produce and food items in bulk from vendors, including Sysco and Grand Avenue Produce. Even temperature-controlled storage is included, meeting Maricopa County food safety standards.

By being a part of Birt’s commercial kitchen, renters of the space will be giving back to our community. Kitchen renters will directly support the nonprofit programs and services Benevilla provides to enrich the lives of West Valley older adults, adults with disabilities, children and the families who care for them while supporting new and upcoming entrepreneurs as well.
