Golfers help raise funds

West Valley golfers helped Benevilla raise $75,000 during the March 3 “Golfing fore Good” tournament at the Wigwam Golf Course, 451 N. Old Litchfield Road, Litchfield Park.

It was a beautiful day and a very successful event, with 144 golfers playing in the 4-person scramble and participated in the numerous tournament player activities, including top score prizes, a hole-in-one contest with a chance to split a $10,000 cash prize with Benevilla, a 50/50 raffle, closest to the pin contests and drawings for raffle prizes. The golf was followed by a lunch and award ceremony.

“This was a fun and amazing event. Benevilla is so thankful to all of the players, volunteers and sponsors for making it so successful.” said Joanne Thomson, Benevilla president and CEO. “Our tournament and the work it supports in the community is only made possible through the generous support of local supporters and our amazing sponsors, including presenting sponsor Arrowhead Lexus.”

Proceeds from this event support the many programs Benevilla, a West Valley nonprofit organization, provides with extensive support services for older adults, adults with disabilities, children and the families who care for them. Benevilla has served the community since 1981 through its Life Enriching Adult Day programs, Benefitness Adaptive Gym, free home services, including grocery shopping, transportation to medical appointments, caregiver support groups and many other vital community support programs.
