Benevilla back for GIVE65 event in July

Posted

Benevilla is participating in the seventh-annual GIVE65 Event, presented by Home Instead Charities, the first and only online-fundraising platform exclusively devoted to helping nonprofits raise money for programs and services helping aging adults live with independence and dignity.

This year, the 65-hour event kicks off at 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 and runs until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, July 14.

Benevilla is eligible for up to $5,000 in matching grants and additional financial rewards are available to the agency raising the most money or has the most unique donors to inspire giving on a greater level.

Matching grants are determined on a first donate/first matched basis. The non-profit asks potential donors to consider donating the morning of July 12, giving Benevilla the best chance at financial awards.

Benevilla is raising funds for its Home Services program helping West Valley older adults and adults with disabilities remain independent and living in their homes for as long as possible.

This program provides free volunteer assisted services such as grocery shopping, assisted transportation to medical appointments, phone pals and more.

The senior population continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, yet the pace of government and philanthropic support for seniors is not.

Often, public funding for services and programs benefiting seniors is the first to fall victim to budget cuts.

This has become even more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Benevilla knows this all too well. Many community services and programs continue to increase in demand in relation to the expanding needs of our senior population.

Benevilla must rely heavily on the generous financial support of the community to continue providing these programs and services helping seniors to remain independent at home and age with dignity.

Everyone who wants to support the mission of Benevilla is asked to visit its GIVE65 fundraising website at www.give65.org/Benevilla.

Donors can create their own GIVE65 fundraising page allowing them to raise even more money.

By creating a GIVE65 page, you can make a personalized appeal by sharing your GIVE65 page URL on social media and in email messages with those who know you and are more likely to donate because you encouraged them to do so.

Call Benevilla Donor Relations at 623-584-4999 for information.

Those interested in supporting Benevilla with a gift through a Donor Advised Fund or Individual Retirement Account are asked contact Benevilla Donor Relations as soon as possible so they can provide directions to ensure your donation will arrive to Home Instead Charities in time to benefit Benevilla through Give65.

Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a nonrofit human services agency. For information on services, volunteer opportunities, to take a tour or donate to Benevilla, call 623-584-4999 or visit benevilla.org.

Paul and Lori Hogan, founders of Home Instead, Inc., established Home Instead Charities in 2003 to raise funds and awareness for charitable programs and services helping less fortunate older adults age with dignity and independence.

Since then, more than $5 million has been distributed to charitable organizations serving the aging population.
