Yesterday, Nov. 12, there was a reported natural gas leak near 103rd Avenue and Alabama. Sun City Fire responded from the 111th Avenue station and then two Sun City Posse vehicles responded soon after.
I’m not sure what these unsworn Posse members thought they were going to do on scene, but both felt the need to speed to the scene with speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour. I’m not entirely sure what a sworn deputy was going to do either.
Either way, these speeds are entirely too fast for our community.
Alabama is posted at 30 mph. People walk their animals in the boulevard, ride bikes along the roadway. Id like to read the exact policy that governs these volunteers and how they respond to activities around Sun City.
Alabama Avenue is not a super speedway. Everyone needs to slow down.
