Anderson: Reader finds amusement in articles in Sun City

Posted

I find amusement in the three articles of May 27 edition of the Sun City Independent — A field full of holes, Merit of refunds and COVID-19 by the numbers.

First, the field full of holes. Yes, golf is frustrating, putting just adds to the frustration! Comparing Sun City’s golf courses to what the pros play, really? I would venture even a pro would have difficulty on some greens here in Sun City and they are this way for a reason, so take your 6 and move on.

Second, yes, we signed the agreement and we are bound to pay the annual fee. I myself do not like paying for something I can not use or did not glean any benefit from. The only thing I’d say is the board of directors could have used less intimidating language to soften the impact. Made worse is the fact that insurance companies are rebating customers and I’m certain there expenses far far exceeds Recreation Centers of Sun City! Perhaps a slight decrease in 2021 dues followed up with an increase for 2022? A little smoke and mirrors so to speak, but much more tactful.

And finally third, COVID-19, a topic so confusing it sounds like politics or religion backed by opinions and very little facts. I for one don’t believe anyone truly knows how many have had it, have it, will get it or are symptomatic. Let’s just assume everyone has either had it or will get it and go from there!

Please note the spelling of “ass-u-me” — LOL.
