AAUW group travels to Chandler château

The American Association of University Women, Northwest Valley branch, recently went on an adventure to Château de Vie in Chandler. Several members carpooled to the Lavender Farm at the Chateau de vie, a luxury 10 acre estate. They explored the historic mansion and immersed themselves in the calming scent of lavender. The 15,000 square foot home includes a lake house and a chef’s kitchen. It was built in 1984 by Phil Erickson, where he and his wife lived. In 2011 Shelley and Nick Goodman bought and restored the home. The group then stopped for lunch at the Perfect Pear Bistro. This trip involved just one of the Special Interest Groups called “Arizona Adventures.” Regular AAUW NWV meetings are 9 a.m. the third Thursday of the month, from September to April, at the Sun City West Foundation. Membership is open to anyone holding an associates, bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
