A. R. Bourque donates art to Sun City show, raffle

Artists by the Lake will hold the third annual Fine Art Show and Sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 22 and 23, in the Lakeview Center, 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd., on the second floor in all the Social Halls.

The show is free to attend.

A. R. Bourque, a graduate of Rhodes Island School of Design and Boston University College of Fine Arts with a MFA, has donated art for the raffle.

Bourque began painting at age 12 and is an award-winning painter who is able to design, develop and deliver art canvases to clients according to their specifications. His work can be seen in many private collections in the Boston area and in Scottsdale galleries. His work can be described as contemporary abstract. Bourque employs bold color and southwest influence on a large scale. His art captures the viewer with the contrasting lines and shapes which he incorporates into an energetic and expressive composition.

Additionally this year, Artists by the Lake will include a gift shop during the show. The shop will have small items that club members make for sale. Artists will be available throughout the show to answer questions and help with art purchase.

A “Peoples’ Choice” award will be given at the end of the show based on visitor votes

The Artists by the Lake Club is located at Lakeview Center on the second floor. Classes are now forming in drawing, pastel, acrylic and oil. All levels welcomed, beginners to advanced experience. Must have a valid RCSC card and a check for $10.

Visit the art room 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, call Deb Dahlin at 315-491-9650 or email debdahlinart@yahoo.com for more information.
