A Doo Wop Christmas comes to Webb Center

Posted

The Doo Wop Project will be celebrating the yuletide season in Wickenburg with a performance of favorite holiday tunes when it returns to the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts, 1090 S. Vulture Mine Road, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.

The quintet puts a retro spin on swingin’ Christmas classics in their new show “A Doo Wop Christmas.”

With their unique style, and slick dance moves, The Doo Wop Project brings the American Radio Songbook to a whole new level. Featuring stars from the Broadway hits “Jersey Boys,” “Motown: The Musical” and “A Bronx Tale,” The Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate — and in some cases entirely reimagine — the greatest music in American pop and rock history.

Backed by a five-piece band, The Doo Wop Project features classics like The Drifters’ “White Christmas,” The Temptations’ “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ version of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” along with “DooWopified” contemporary hits like “This Christmas” and “Last Christmas.”

Tickets for “A Doo Wop Christmas” are available at dewpac.org or by calling the Webb Center box office at 928-684-6624. Tickets start at $45 for adults and $5 for students 18 and younger.
