Training available for Arizona residents interested in running for office

The Arizona Secretary of State’s Office has announced a new Candidate Filing Workshop in March for residents interested in running for office, along with a series of handbooks providing guidance for candidates, political action committees, and lobbyists for the 2020 election cycle.
“The upcoming trainings are a resource for potential new candidates and those who have run for office before,” Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said. “Participating in our democracy as a candidate can be both exciting and overwhelming. We want to make sure people have what they need to be prepared.”
The Candidate Filing Workshop covers how to prepare and file nomination paperwork for federal, statewide, and legislative offices. The filing window is open for candidates participating in Clean Elections. Traditional candidates for these offices may file with the Secretary of State’s Office between March 7 and April 6.
The workshops are 1:30-2:30 p.m. March 5 and 10-11 a.m. March 6 on the second floor in the Historic Supreme Court Chambers of the Arizona Capitol Museum, 1700 W. Washington St., Phoenix.
