Tempe school backpack program entices donors with Legoland gift

Posted

The Tempe Elementary School District’s backpack donation program is taking place at Arizona Mills mall, 5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, Tempe, rewarding donors with a prize.

The back-to-school campaign  gives shoppers the opportunity to help students start the 2022-23 school year with a new backpack and, in return, donors  receive a free gift from the LEGOLAND Discovery Center.

Backpacks can be purchased at a number of stores at the mall.

Participants in the program then drop off the backpacks at the guest services location near the food court. There is one gift per family while supplies last.

According to the school district, about 25 backpacks have been donated since the program began earlier this month.  Donations will be accepted through Thursday, July 28.
